A civil lawsuit filed in Stanislaus County Superior Court has drawn significant attention to allegations of financial misconduct at one of the Central Valley’s largest frozen vegetable producers. Cebro Frozen Foods Inc., headquartered in Newman, has sued its former Chief Financial Officer Robert Fantazia and members of his family, alleging a multimillion-dollar embezzlement scheme carried out over several years.

The Allegations
According to the lawsuit, Cebro alleges that more than $4.3 million in company funds were diverted to pay personal expenses, including credit card bills, vehicle financing, and other purchases. The complaint details payments made to multiple financial institutions using Cebro accounts, as well as allegations that company funds were used for personal real estate and other expenditures.
The lawsuit states that Cebro’s CEO had questioned declining profits despite strong sales over a period of years. The former CFO allegedly provided assurances that finances would improve, particularly after certain construction projects were completed. However, according to the complaint, the expected improvements never materialized, prompting a deeper internal review.
